How to play without alcohol

Finger-counting: Everyone starts with five or ten fingers raised. Read a statement beginning “Never have I ever…” If you have done it, lower one finger. The last player with a finger raised wins.

Points: Give yourself one point whenever you have done the thing. After ten prompts, the highest score wins—or skip scoring and pause for stories instead. Drinking is not required.

Choose the room: With new friends, stick to easy and everyday sections. Close friends may enjoy friendship stories and surprising revelations. Nobody must explain an answer, and anyone can skip.

Frequently asked questions

What is a good number of players?

Four to eight gives everyone chances to share without making the round slow, though two people can play and large groups can use the points version.

How do we play with people who just met?

Use icebreakers and everyday prompts, avoid asking for explanations, and play a short ten-question round.

Does the game have to involve drinking?

No. Fingers, points or simply raising a hand work better for mixed groups and keep the focus on conversation.
